Growing fruit in small spaces

If living in a smaller space such as a townhouse or condo seems limiting to what you can grow regarding fruit bearing plants, join the Sooke Garden Club for this month’s speaker Barrie Agar as she will demonstrate the different methods to grow fruit that will fit in a compact garden and still be ornamental.

Barrie did her initial training and started her horticultural career on a large estate in Ireland in a market garden. Working in a wide variety of nurseries and gardens in BC and Ireland, Barrie recently retired from being Head Gardener at Hatley Park at Royal Roads University. Also, a member of the BC Fruit Testers, and involved with the Cowichan Rhododendron Society, as well as on the Board of the North American Japanese Garden Association.

Members of the Sooke Garden Club are invited to attend the meeting on Wednesday, April 24th at 7 p.m. at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 2191 Townsend Rd. If you would like to join, come to the meeting or email us at Sookegc@gmail.com!
