Sooke Garden Club - 50th Anniversary

Supporting our community

Thank you to the Executive for the opportunity to talk about water to the Club. The card is beautiful and definitely a keeper with kind and gracious words.  The generous honorarium is going into the 606 Water Group coffers to help buy more models for people to see and use to understand watersheds and their importance.

I wonder if our paths would have crossed if not for the Club  which would be a loss in my life …

— Lynn (2023)

“On behalf of Ayre Manor, thank you for the lovely garden that you created for the residents. Beauty now, in a previously dry and bleak garden spot".”

— Lorraine Hoy (2021)

Marianne Pichler was a longtime member of the Garden Club and a parlour show judge for several years. She passed away in Ontario in late May. Her daughter, Ellen wanted to share this story with the Garden Club.

Gardening was mom's true love and the relationships she forged with the garden club members were precious to her.  Before her stroke she 'messed around' in my garden and now I have surprise things erupting that I KNOW I didn't plant.  She was sneaky and I'm so grateful for the little surprises that warm my heart with thoughts of her when I discover them.

— Ellen

“Congratulations to the Sooke Garden Club on celebrating your 50th anniversary!”

— Victoria Horticultural Society (2021)

“I’d like to thank President, Pam Day and the Club for the delightful tea and gathering for the Club's 40th anniversary.”

— Archie Byatt (2011)

“Thanks the Club for the $100 donation to our bursary fund.”

— Sooke Legion (2010)

Who we are

The Sooke Garden Club was established in 1971 as a means for residents of the Sooke Region to come together to share experiences, learn from experts, and enjoy the camaraderie and benefits to be derived from a common interest in gardening and horticulture. In turn, the Club contributes to the community through monetary donations, gardening-related volunteer work/support, and committee participation.
