January Town Hall Meeting & Workshop

The Sooke Garden Club tidied up the year with the annual general meeting November 23rd, 2022, bringing in new members on the executive. These executive members plan the years events and have a bit of fun along the way. They meet once a month, all joining together, brainstorming with heads full of ideas to create an informative, creative gardening year. To start off Ron O’Brien will be the Facilitator for the January 25th meeting. Ron is the current Vice President of the Sooke Garden Club and has also held the position as Past President of the club for 3 years. Ron and his wife Shirley are avid gardeners taking care of their 3-acre rural garden in Otter Point.

This interactive workshop will include opportunities to help members plan and initiate programs that will help the SGC maintain the unsullied record as the #1 Garden Club in Sooke. Members and newcomers will help guide the Executive through letting them all know what they hope for in a Garden Club and what keeps them motivated and engaged. Some group activities will give the club a chance to explore some of the more common areas of gardening that everyone could learn from each other and apply to their own situation.

The evening will be fast paced and will strive to leave everyone with new knowledge, and opportunity for self-expression.

If you are a current Sooke Garden Club member, or would like to join, come to the meeting on Wednesday, January 25th at 7:00pm at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

A list of our scheduled events, such as the annual plant sale, will be available soon on the Events page. You can also join our Facebook group for news and updates.

Annual membership for the Sooke Garden Club is $15 and new members are always welcome. Join today!
