Earthwise Gardening

Although nature is showing signs of slowing down and preparing for the winter season, it can also be looked upon as a new beginning. We may find ourselves shifting to a mellow frame of mind. What did well this year in the garden, how can I improve my veggie patch, how can my perennial bed show more autumn colors, what is the best location for my favorite plant(s)? Layer up with rain gear, garden trowel, gloves and embrace the autumn.

The SGC October presentation is an introduction to Earthwise Society.

As the Executive Director Patricia Fleming has over 25 years’ experience designing demonstration gardens. She specializes in the creation of ecological gardens that work with natural systems, to incorporate indigenous plants and enhance biodiversity.

With Earthwise Society, Patrica has developed public ecological gardens in Tsawwassen, and organic teaching farms in Delta and Agassiz. She is passionate about the importance of gardens and gardening for people and the planet.

The meeting is open to SGC members, as well as welcoming newcomers. Join the Sooke Garden Club on Wednesday, October 23rd at 7:00 pm at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. If you would like to become a member join here.
